I would chose the American Civil War, On the Confederate side. Because they fought with Honor, Chivalry, Valor & Bravery the likes of which is not seen anymore in my opinion.
Here's a few examples of this Honor, Chivalry, Valor & Bravery : The Confederate Irish Brigade weeping & cheering for the Union Irish Brigade at Fredericksburg- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijAwhSwAoWM
Sergeant Richard Kirkland "the Angel of Marye's Heights"- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szbNnUzbAuY
The Men of Pickett's Division making a mile long bayonet charge under-fire evey step of the way and not taking a single step back- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSraOEtrhWY
