I've resolved to work on my mental health, to push myself to overcome my often crippling agoraphobia, trying to encourage myself to go out into public is difficult with the state of things in the world today, I have a hard time coming up with anything worth the trauma of leaving my Badgers' den.

In my mind it would be to stop smoking. My health has proven (lungs) that my life would be of better quality. I know the dangers of smoking with a lung disease, and the more I want to stop, the more I smoke.

To my dear family and friends!

I'm passing this on because it worked for me today. A Dr. I know said to have inner peace we should always finish things we start, and we all could use more calm in our lives. I looked around my house to find things I'd started and hadn't finished, so I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, tha mainder of Valiuminun scriptins, a box a chocletz. Yu haf no idr how fablus I feel rite now. Sned this to all who need inner piss. An telum u luvum

My resolution is to be happy and content with what I have and where im at in life, and why is because this is the only way I think someone can be truly happy.

Staying smoke free… If I had a dollar for every time I quit in the past, I could buy a really nice boat. Maybe a houseboat. Finally, I smoked my last cigarettes Oct. 30, 2021. I got up the next morning, not feeling well and was thinking, ‘Screw the cigarettes. I’m done.’ I went back to bed and kept feeling worse. After 11 days I had lost 17 pounds. Finally went to the local VA emergency room and learned that I had bacterial pneumonia. I was too sick to crave nicotine (or anything else). By the time I was on the mend, I had lost all desire to smoke. I do sometimes “miss” the cigarette with my morning coffee or occasional adult beverage. I just hope I never get that monkey on my back again.

I am a recent below the knee amputee. I would choose to stick with learning patience and balance. Patience with learning to walk, to have a new way of living and to be patient with myself in knowing that every day I take a step is a good day. And balance in learning to stand and walk, and a balance in learning what I once did comes with changes and a little longer to complete things.

mark, the thing that finally got me to quit was also chest imaging that showed lung damage from a lifetime 50+ years of smoking and then i lost one of my last long time friends to tobacco ...4 years ago i said to myself thats enough damnit and quit for good after years of trying. now i feel good and cravings are rare and short lived,i probably will not be running in any marathons but at least there is not an oxygen tank following me around...hang tough.

I feel you. Even a walk around the block is 100% better than nothing. The Virtual distance challenge medals help me stay motivated. My goblin heart wants the shiny.

That's a tough one - (voice of experience) - you must be 100% honest with yourself in that you truly want to quit and with right mindset it is possible. Stick with it.
