I always wanted to meet Steve Irwin. His passion and dedication to educating people about nature and wildlife was infectious. Australia has been my dream vacation since I was seven years old, and a large portion of that is due to Steve. I still remember where I was the day he passed. Thankfully, his legacy has lived on through his family, but he'll never be forgotten.

I would love to have spent some time with Jack Benny. He had a wonderful sense of humor. I remember as a little boy listening to his radio shows and laughing at his wonderful jokes.

I would like to meet:

Louis B. Leakey, discoverer of significant archeological fossils in Africa’s Olduvai Gorge of early hominid species like Australopithecus and Homo habilis.
I want to ask him why did he mar his reputation by claiming to have found pre-Homo sapien stone tools in N. America at the Calico Early Man Site in California’s Mojave Desert ?
How could he rationalize making such a claim without examining how those tools could have been made by natural means ? Was it because he was getting careless in old age ? Was he so enamored by the adulation from the young women at the site, he couldn’t bear to disappoint them ? Was it to break through the tightly held american archeological belief that no humans could possibly be in the New World before the Clovis People ? Or, to remind us that no one, including the Top Dude, is beyond question and criticism ?

No specific person but I’d really like to time travel and see what things were like at various historical moments. I think we either aggrandize or demonize ideas and times but who knows what it would’ve actually been like. Plus I think I’d be happier living in the past without modern tech. Maybe I should meet the inventor of the cell phone and tell him to F off

I would want to meet William H. Carney, he was the first Africa-American Medal of Honor recipient. He served in the Army during the Civil War. I was ask him what pushed up to join the service in such a turmolous era. My curiosity came from a visit to Charleston, he name was briefly mentioned on the tour so I wanted to know more. He risked his life to keep the American Flag from falling to the ground as a fellow soldier died holding it. He was shot several times crawling up the hill to Fort Wagner keeping the colors from touching the ground. I wonder what was going through his mind to protect the flag through that hell. True definition of honor and courage.

I have always respected Abraham Lincoln beginning with stories I heard about him in elementary school. He was raised in poverty but demonstrated integrity and a strong character throughout his life. He was committed to his personal ambitions despite failures and provided strong leadership for our country during its most difficult time of division and war. His humility and trust in God strengthened him to respect those who disagreed with him while standing firm on the principles of the equality and rights of every human being. He led us to the emancipation of slavery, and I am confident would have helped our country heal much more quickly and led the push to reunify the nation's political differences and advance the rights and opportunities of black Americans. He perservered through hatred, mockery, antagonism, and family struggles, and his life was ended much too soon by an assasin who was an angry and biased coward. I am conviced he would have wisdom to share with our political leaders today, and will always be an inspiration and one of our two greatest presidents.

If you could meet anyone in history it would be Carl M. Brashear who was a United States Navy sailor that became the first African-American US Navy Master Diver despite having his left leg amputated. The film Men of Honor was based on his life and some of the events that he endured during his Naval career.
I would ask him what was his personal motivation for pressing through the racism and hostility while attending the United States Navy Diving & Salvage School. I would also thank him for his contribution to the United States Navy and for paving the way for many others who were challenged in that career field.

Ronald Regan or George Washington; to try and prevent what is happening to this country and to figure out a way to keep it together.
