My wife used to entertain the idea of opening a diner one day. She attended a culinary school before we met, but never finished. It me thinking on and off for a while. In the last year, I started thinking about it more. I'd name it " Angry Waffle" or "Awful Waffle, and instead of "established," it would say "bullying breakfast" or "breakfast bully since xxxx." I even came up with several logos, some that my wife thought were too graphic. Examples are a pissed off waffle beating shelled eggs into scrambled; hanging a strip of ham or bacon and burning it with a flame thrower; or even a waffle squirting its jam on a slice of toast. Frankly, I get bored and just brainstorm a lot. I even came up with a brand of cigarettes in 2003 called "I Like It." The varieties included "rough" and "hard." So, much like going to the bodega and asking for some Marlboro Reds or Lights, you'd walk in saying, "I Like It Rough." It's meant to be a play on words.

This is also an idea that I've toyed with. I would lean a little more towards traditional comfort food personally. I have also thought about opening a tea shop - a place where you can come & play chess, go, etc while getting a cup of tea. Perhaps a bit more Asian inspired.

I would open a bar. The name would be "The Grog" and the speciality drink would be a grog drink. It may taste horrible... but everyone still drinks it! I would serve traditional bar foods. I have acutally talked about this with my brother and cousins. We are all army vets and it is something I think we want to do in the future.

You should have mead, too. There's a place here near Columbia, MO (Hermann, MO) where 2 brothers make mead. It is surprisingly good!
