If you could PCS anywhere, where would you go and why?

The Presidio of Monterey at the Defense Language Institute. My branch manager helped me get back to there as an MLI in August. The best duty station in the Army I've been to so far.

I would love to get stationed in Germany. Luckily I came down on orders for Wiesbaden and will be headed that way this summer!

I am thinking about somewhere closer to home like Texas. The wife wants Hawaii of course, but it would be nice to be closer to home and military schools.

There's 142 (ish) countries to be assigned to in the Defense Attache System ranging from 12-36 months. It can be a lottery, but nothing beats an embassy assignment. As it stands it is MOS immaterial for Army enlisted, but restricted to FAOs for officers and MI CW2s for warrants. All other services are somewhat similar and represented. I was in Moldova, and it was my best assignment thus far. So, my trump card for branch would be back in the DAS.

I would love to go to Alaska, it looks beautiful and the hunting and fishing is amazing, so I've heard.

It is interesting that some list places, some list specific duties, and others list units. I can say some of my best assignments have been to "bad places".
