If you could pick any MOS, rank, and/or branch in the Military, what would it be?

My honest answer is that I would chose different branches depending upon my military and future career goals.
Note, this is simply my opinion based on my experiences.
IF
You want the a likely guarantee of enlisted training (technical) that equals a job after military life, AF or NAVY
toughest prospects to find a job after military, jobs in combat arms for Army or Marines
If you want a plethora of duty stations where you really want to live, aka best bases nicest housing, Navy and AF
Best benefits and most extra pays, NAVY and AF
If you want to be a Piolet, AF or Navy
A Diver, Navy or Army
Best guarrentee of 20 years service, Navy and AF
Best uniforms, Navy or Marines
Most eligibility for certifications, degrees, ribbons and awards, AF
If you want to be a "combat vet" ie you want to have the greatest likihood of participating in a actual direct combat operations/battle, Army or Marines. Remember most SOCOM elements are Army (SF, Ranger, SOAR, CA, and consider what most SMUs are ...
On the other side, if you want the best chance of never being injured or killed down range or injured during high speed training, AF and Navy
If you want a career in state department, politics or CIA, Navy
NSA, AF
Other secret black box, door kicker shooter jobs, Army SOCOM then Navy (Dept of Marines)
My point being is that there is no one "best branch". I chose the Army and I am proud and satisfied with that decision even in recognition of ways that the Army is dysfunctional. It's my dysfunctional family and all of the other branches represent my crazy 1st cousins. The thinking that one branch is better is poisonous and honestly childish and diversive. No one branch of the Military could conduct sustained military operations on a large scale for any length of time without the other. They are all critical. As any combat soldier who has called for fire from the AF or Navy can testify, when it comes it's almost magical. We are strong because we are one united military. Hence the wisdom and need for ALL the branches of the United States Military.
Note, this is simply my opinion based on my experiences.

Given the choice I would have enlisted in the Air Force as a SERE Specialist or a Combat Weatherman.

Wow, I guess I'm the only "brown shoe" guy here. I am a Crew Chief and have been for 30 years as of last weekend. I started on F-14 Tomcats for 6 years, and then A-10 Warthogs for 16 years. I've been back in the
air-to-air community in F-15 Eagles for 8 years now. I have never had, and can't imagine a more intense tactical aviation career than a Warthog Crew Chief, although I'm pretty sure being a Zulu Crew Chief in the Marines or an Apache Longbow Crew Chief has to be pretty great to.

Apache Longbow "Crew Chief", lol. Just had to give my 15R freinds some static. Im an Armament Guy on the Apache, and I love my job to death, but damn what I wouldnt give to be up putting steel on target, instead of loading that steel.

I gotta be honest, I'm not in the know so to speak on Army MOS designations. Crew Chief is a pretty much universally known title.

You are right. The old title used to be crewchief, then it was changed to maintainer. But if you get a Chinook and Blackhawk crewchief together, they sometimes love to hassle the Apache Maintainer as not a real crewchief because he doesnt fly with his bird. And being one of two MOS's that work on the Apache, we just love to give them hassle anyway, lol.

After several tours overseas and looking back I would have joined the Navy to be a Seabee. I really wish I had known about them and what their skill set was.

When I came in there was actually an MOS for night club manager it was the individual responsible for the NCO club or the officers club
