The military offers alot of its surplus gear to the highest bidder in online auction sites. If you ever bid and won an item, what was that experience like? Did you get a good deal or ripped off? What did you win? Would you recommend similar auction sites to others?

SFC Charles S.. Where we parked depends on where aircraft were certified, where we could obtain good quality maintenance / overhaul / fuel at the lowest price, who was willing to provide the required equipment / supplies / personnel, and where the aid was needed. We park wherever we were needed. Warmest Regards, Sandy

In a manner of speaking. I participated in the civilian marksmanship program and picked up a Korean War M1 Garand. I would really happy with the purchase. Ifyou a chances check out the program. The CMP is a great way to own a piece of military history.

I have purchased a M934A 5 ton truck in excellent condition, a M1008 CUCV pickup that I've spent five times the purchase price to make a daily driver. I have also scored a $4000 brand new transmission that was listed as a pallet of scrap. All I can say is buyer beware, do not trust DRMO condition codes, view the lots in person. Bid away and pay attention to the site rules.

The moment I find out an MRAP is up for auction to the general public (It will never happen, I am sure), I am all over that like white on rice.
