If you had unlimited resources with man pack weapons but only 5 minutes to prepare, you grab what?

Clue: read again without assumptions, tick tock 3 min left now. That's the point. Unknown enemy unknown size any direction, point or area fire weapons?, dual 60s?, emphasis on word "you", and you are all alone. Since your lone operator, crew served are only a backup armory. Maybe a suitcase nuke but you'd have to be a fast runner, and run which direction etc.

That will work. Grab a long gun, pistol and ammo and evac pos. Or stand in place depending on commitment level. Enemy size, location, composition and routes of approach were unknowns. CWO3 (Join to see) - It comes from my LRRP times, no sleep for 3 days and nights, and when on the third night in water up to your chest, we were told that we had 15 minutes to sleep. Lol

Yes, that kind of boom should slow most if not stop any advancing ground forces. Not knowing infil/exfil if it becomes an anchor - get coordinate and bury it - retrieve it later if needed. With a M4 and comms I should be able to get a fastmover or FA on target if its a large objective, if its more HVT or rescue I'll need some assistance on the ground - QRF - as I feel exfil will get a bit more complicated.

SPC David S. - Good plan flow. One question. What's the Delta on blast radius vs how far you can run in the time left after hitting the switch? 5 minutes available. I've never been close to more than one ton of grade IV belted ball and mostly line charge bags. Rocked the shack good at 29 Palms.

Well that is the big concern with that king of munition. The GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB of the mother of all bombs) is the equivalent of 11 tons of TNT and has a blast radius of a mile wide so I assume with the SADM its roughly the same making it a half mile from ground zero. However any contact while exfil'ing could make a 10 minute mile pace difficult. As well there is the fallout concern - this sucker will make a big radioactive cloud. I can only assume the affects but one minute of exposure I feel confident in saying would not be good to one's health. The big question is - do you stay to secure an armed nuke?

Biggest thud I ever experienced was when we got a new Chaplain for our BN. He wanted to see what FA was all about - so I volunteered to take him out to the range to get a taste of inbound/incoming. I called in a suppression TOT (time on target - all rounds impact more or less at the same time, +3 seconds, and off the ground) for our BN. It was at night so a very impressive site.
