I'm an Army Reservist on Active Duty orders out of state. I have Tricare Prime Remote, and am not near a military base where I can receive medical care.

I called Humana military, and they informed me I needed a PCM. I went through the enrollment, and received a PCM. Once assigned, I called my PCM to book an appointment.

I told them I wanted to book a medical appointment to get my hip looked at. It's been bothering me off and on since I broke my foot in Active Duty back in 2012. My hip and lower back seem to easily go out of alignment, and this is causing me hip inflammation and lower back pain. This has been an off an on thing for years. I have attempted to get it looked at multiple times, but always hit a roadblock.

My PCM said they would not be able to book an appointment earlier than the date provided, which falls after my window of coverage ends. What others options do we have if you're covered, but are unable to get medical care before your coverage ends? Or, are you just out of luck and have to pay for it yourself?

The medical issue occurred during military training, and has been aggravated by military training on multiple occasions.

Thank you for all help in advance!

You need to have get a "Line Of Duty" completed. This is when you are injured while on active duty in the reserve component but will need care after you come off orders. Here is a link to tricare about it. Army Regulation 600–8–4 covers how.

I called Human military and had my PCM changed. The new PCM was able to book me an appointment before I go off orders thankfully.
