Do you have any humorous hurry up and wait stories?
I don't know if anybody actually ever told me to hurry up and wait when I was a young soldier; but, I know many times I was directed to hurry to get somewhere only to wait in line - sometimes in nice weather while other times in cold wet rain or snow and a few times inside a building.
To be honest, I laugh to myself when I think about hurry up and wait as I am in a government line somewhere. Now If I don't want to wait I can leave :-)

LTC Stephen F. After (37 Years) of "Hurry Up and Wait" nothing phases me when it takes forever. Plus, I'm older, wiser, and more relaxed now! It comes with age and experience!

LTC Stephen F. Yes you are absolutely correct and as usual I'm out of "Up Votes", but I have the patience of ROCK and will wait until tomorrow to recognize another great post by my Friend and colleague Mr. Stephen Ford!

In the beginning it was a state of Panic, then over the years became a state of"Get Ready" and wait for the outcome of the whole process.

Had to show up on runway at 0400 hrs for a plane that wasn't even scheduled to depart until 1300, and was delayed until 2000 hrs. No shade, hotter than blazes, could not go to chow because someone was afraid the schedule would change again (mess tent was at the end of the block). Found out just prior to departure they were waiting for a 06 who was running late (overslept). I needed a chaplain!
