Am not advocating a military coup so don't shoot the messenger. That said, our government is clearly not listening to the people that elected it, and we have a Constitutional crisis on our hands. The Federal Gov't is trying to import people it can't screen which puts Americans at risk. The Governors of at least 30 States are rejecting the refugees this Administration is trying to bring in against the popular will of the people. We have seen what is going on in Europe and retired Generals are starting to talk about removing our Commander in Chief. Do you agree with them?

NOTE: This is directed at V, R, and C, and SM are advised to NOT COMMENT on this discussion.

With the proper paperwork any standing President must forfeit themselves to leaving office. Should soldiers be necessary, I would think it was a Totalitarian Coup being conducted by the President that wouldn't leave office.

I am no longer active, but never recanted my oath. That being said, the ONLY way I could support that (as badly as I abhor what he has done, and continues to do), would be if he was impeached. In my mind, at that point, any and all orders from him would be unlawful, and his removal from office would be just and valid.

I don not know the regulations for who would remove a sitting president after a valid impeachment process. If it is the duty of a member of the military to do so to carry out as so ordered by Congress and the Constitution , of course I would. All a matter of if that is a valid order per US Law. I would guess that removal would actually be by the bailiff of the Senate, but my memory is gone about the impeachment process.

SPC Christopher Perrien, The Senate Sgt at Arms is the only one who has the authority to remove a sitting President, but the President can not be removed until he has been impeached.

===================================================
In the last century, Nixon resigned to avoid impeachment over the Watergate scandal.

President Clinton was impeached by the House but the Senate did not convict him so he remained in office with that stain on his legacy.

Obama has done everything to get impeached and the only reason he's still around is because he's Black. Political Correctness has the GOP paralyzed. The House is afraid to impeach him because the Democrats control enough of the Senate to block it, and they don't want repercussions from the low-information voters to ricochet back on them. Furthermore, they don't want to get blamed for any rioting that may take place as a result.

Congress doesn't have the testicular fortitude requisite to do their jobs and rid the government of its corruption, and so America continues to burn and sink under the burden of its exponentially rising debt.

Would love to, but not until an impeachment or constitutional convention vote on it. I think most people have forgotten about the constitutional convention portion of the Constitution

A Convention of the States would check the powers that the Federal Gov't is grabbing.

I still believe in this oath! And I believe he (Obama) is an domestic enemy.

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

After they've proven all of the accusations which should've already been done and impeached him, sign me up! I'd love to put hands on him and tote him to jail. Of course, after he's been found guilty of treason. We wouldn't let that happen to the anointed one though. He's special!

Is the President honoring his oath and has he been carrying out his Constitutional duties in exemplary fashion? Or has he been circumventing Congress, ignoring the people's voice in government, and acting on his own agenda to shred our Constitution, give up our sovereignty to others, and weaken American's influence in the world? Be honest.

You might want to pull your head out of the sand and reconsider swearing your blind allegiance to corruption.

Why don't you reread what you just wrote and ask yourself if what you said makes any sense. Who says I am attacking the Constitution? What I am seeking is restoration and a return to the Constitution that our government has quit following. Hell, we have a Supreme Court justice that thinks our Constitution is outdated and in need of revision and when asked she recommended that countries experimenting with Democracy should pattern their constitutions after Canada's or South Africa's. Seriously. How can one perform their duties interpreting our Constitution when they don't even believe in it?!!

SSG John Thornton Answer this for us: Does Obama meet the Constitutional qualifications of office (Y/N)? A simple yes or no will do. Not so difficult.

SSG John Thornton, You couldn't answer my simple question. Why? Was it too difficult a question? Or was it too difficult to answer...

We'll see if my ideas were unpopular next November. I am confident that Obama was never legit from the start and that election fraud was responsible for getting him installed.

Very touchy subject. Do I feel that he is unfit? Yes, I certainly do. His trade and education deals are reprehensible. His inability to lead in the face of an international problem, h's lack of standing behind and selling out of our allies. He's made a laughing stock of the office of President. I think a vote of no confidence should be given before considering removal

That would be a good start. I simply wish that the people we elected had done their jobs so that we wouldn't be having this conversation.

This will never happen in a truly free democracy. If the Military were to take those actions, those involved could be subject to punishment for treason. We will never have a military coup in the US.

SGT Richard Blue - Yawn. Heard all that before. Maybe instead of regurgitating the worn out Progressive Talking points, you might try coming up with something original. And while you're at it, why don't you brush up on what constitutes treason.

Capt Jeff S. - Classic! You ask me to be original in your reply to my common sense assessment, while at the same time linking a biased op-ed associated with Fox News. Talk about an oxymoron!

You mention, “I’ve heard this all before”. This is probably the only truth I’ve heard from you in this entire back and forth. As long as you keep spewing partisan propaganda you will probably continue to keeping hearing the same fact based retort from multiple avenues.

Oh, and I don’t need an op-ed to explain to me the legal definition of treason. This “should be” common knowledge and I quote “should be”..

Our Founding Fathers would likewise have been hung for treason. Yet we can thank them for their unselfish commitment to create a country that provides us with the freedoms we take for granted.

Our nation began with one. Freedom isn't free. It has to be maintained. You all know that. I am preaching to the choir. Nobody here including myself wants to see a military coup. That is the last resort... The nuclear option if you will. Our nation is imploding because of political correctness. People are afraid to say what they are thinking. They watch silently as those we elected sell out and allow others to chip away at the foundations of our democracy. Instead of speaking out against the unconstitutional actions our government has been taking, like sheep they just allow the government to fleece them and squander the inheritance they have built up for future generations.

The ONLY thing this generation of fools has to offer the next generation is an astronomical burden of debt so huge that if dollars were stretched end to end it would reach the sun and back. Thomas Jefferson wrote that each generation should be responsible for the debt it incurs and that debt should not be passed down to future generations. He also advocated rebellion as a means of response to government tyranny. "The tree of liberty must be watered from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

Note that Jefferson didn't advocate insurrection but rebellion in order to keep politicians aware of their responsibilities and mindful of those whom they were elected to represent.

Our political leaders have egregiously mismanaged this country's finances, plundered its treasures, and forgotten what their responsibilities are. They have become a ruling class and have so little respect for those that elected them that they just brush off inquiries into their wrongdoing with obfuscation and lies. Many of you for reasons inexplicable are okay with that. I am not, and I'm not the only one of this opinion.

I want to see America strong and prospering... but America is weak and failing under the toxic leadership of this fraudulent and corrupt Administration. Is this what you support?

Capt Jeff Schwager, MAJ Yinon Weiss and SGT Jay Ehrenfeld - Mr. Obama certainly has a limited view on how to govern, and unfortunately it is not for our Country's best I'm afraid. As a lawyer, Mr. Obama seems to have been able to skirt the laws to invoke his own will and wishes to "fundamentally change" (as he claimed prior to his election) the fabric of our great Nation. It is sad to see so many Americans misled by the treasonous behavior and beliefs of one influential man. This must be exactly how some of the Germans felt as they watched Hitler's ascend to Overlord. The good news is, we're better than this (him). We'll rise above his deeds and damage and rebuild on the strong building blocks called our Constitution, Bill of Rights and no less our Declaration of Independence. These were laid as our foundation which was bought and paid for with the blood, love and lives of all those brave Americans who came before us and those whom we had the privilege to serve with, ourselves included. This is not the first attack we have faced and it's certain to not be our last. What we are witnessing in Mr. Obama is the truth found in how easy it is to give something away that you nor your family have any equity (blood, sweat, love or loss) in. And as long as we are able to stand United, we will continue to STAND!
This link will remind you that Candidate Obama told us all of his intent from the very beginning. Do you remember the warning he gave us?
