I'm attending to airborne school after OUST. Are there any tips to be successful at airborne school?

SSG Roger Ayscue - I think it is a key to success in the school. The OP asked for tips :) As a NAP, I can honestly say that once an airborne troop reaches the ground, they are really not much different then their peers.

SFC (Join to see) - Having been in both Airborne and Non-Airborne units, the Esprit de Corps is better in the Airborne (From my Personal Experience, yours may be different) and the training is tougher.

I just graduated Airborne school 3 weeks ago. Be in a good shape and listen attentively to the blackhats, everything they teach you is what will save your life!
If you decide you want to get kicked out of Airborne school and given a no return; sleeping during classes is the easiest way to do it.
On jump week (Week 3) once you exit the aircraft at 1,250ft and done all the good stuffs on your way down and you are fully grounded after conducting your nice PLF lol, pack your chutes in it’s bag and RUN to the designated checking-in Sergeant Airborne.

A buddy of mine was kicked out of Airborne school after our 3rd jump for walking back instead of double timing, some of those cadre/blackhats will jump with y’all and that was how he was caught.
Trust me you will be tired at that point but whatever you may feel do whatever you can but do NOT walk, 1-507 PIR Sergeant Major does not like it! Apart from that enjoy it, don’t hesitate to jump, keep your knees and feet together (Very Important) and understand your PLFs. If you are not sure of anything ask, the blackhats will be happy to sqaure you away.

SPC (Join to see) Years ago, on a windy day, a friend went off a tower and was blown across the roadway. Before Jim Edmonds could recover and rise to his feet, a Black Hat was in his face for failing to execute a proper PLF!

CSM Charles Hayden Lol i agree Sergeant Major, same happened to a guy in my class that tried to slip his parachute closer to the check in zone so he wouldn’t have to walk the distance once he is grounded but he ended up on a tree lol, he was chewed for not having his knees and feet together and not getting ready for a proper PLF.

Airborne school was fun.
