I am a new transferee into the Space Force from the Army. In the Army, I understand that your rater can be someone of the same rank, outranks you by the DOR. I am being told that is not the case in the Space Force. Can someone provide some insight/ references. Thanks.

Two things - seniority by grade and seniority by position.

You could have done that is junior in rank by DOR rank you in the Army if he's in a position that is senior to you. I assume the same is in the other services.

I'm traveling and on my phone right now so I'll have to wait until I get back to give you references (670-8 series)

Roger Sir. Does that still hold true if the rated officer was to pin the next rank before the rating officer?

Still traveling, but a quick look at AR 623-3 ... read chapter 2-5b.

HOWEVER, Remer there are regulations for the Army, not the Space Force which is a different branch... no idea what regulations and such they follow (Their own? Air Force if they don't have one of their own? Etc.)

I suppose. When I was in the commander's position of a company I was rating an officer a few years further along than myself (we were both 1LT's). Gave him a strong eval (as far as evals go for 1LT to another 1LT :-) and soon enough he was snatched up by Battalion for a staff slot and make a CPT.

Then ironically, to pop hot for marijuana and that was that, but that's anther topic :-)

I can see how it would work if you are in a command position. But for non-command billets, it can be a little tricky.
