Which AR 670-1 violations do you overlook? Do you make on the spot corrections? Who are the biggest violators?

Hands in uniform pockets. I do make the correction. Leaders are the biggest violators. I would like to see this removed from the regulation, or make it punitive. I corrected a leader one day, and his reply was to show me a picture of the SMA with his hands in his pockets.

Hands in pockets. Yes, all the time. Leaders.
If there was thing in the regulation that I would change, it would be this one. Either get rid of it, or make it a punitive.

I always struggled with the “hands in the pocket” rule. I don’t know if it was physiological or psychological or both but I could barely stop it. I even went so far as putting a heavy rubber band on my wrist and snapping it on the inside of my wrist. 30+ years later, I still do it - and I try to correct myself mentally. Part of my inappropriate rationalization was “Why would they put front pockets in our uniforms if they didn’t want us to stick our hands in them?. I knew it wasn’t right and I always struggled to correct it but as the young people say these days “My bad!”.

The most commom violation that I saw during my last 15 years of military career, was the extremely wrong use of the combat or utility uniform,
instead of the Class B or A uniform, for a great number of ocassions, were the dress uniforms were the right or logical way of dressing.
The dressing regulation shoud be change,as to make mandatory a great number of this intances, were the use of the combat uniform doesn't has any logical common sense to use.
About what ocassions I am talking about: office duty, classroom instruction,JAG personnel in garrison, chaplain personnel in garrison, medical branches of all types in garrison, graduations of all type of courses and retirement ceremonies and medals or honors of any type ceremonies, traveling
between airports on USA states or territories, were I really believe, a dress uniform shoud be use by regulation were in orders or special events are the common sense uniform.
The uniform regulation on this sense,is very easy to ammend.

Zoomie Electronic Tech... one hand in your pocket when working on equipment. Paid off the day I got hit by a 900 VDC power supply. Instead of dead I got one hand a little toasted and walked away.
No one in their right mind bothered Techies about that while I was in... they knew better<G>

Tell me why it's okay for me to grip my balls in PT uniform when it's 10º outside? How is that more professional than using the pockets?

Either hands in pockets, boots unbloused or walkin' and talkin' on their phone.
