Which AR 670-1 violations do you overlook? Do you make on the spot corrections? Who are the biggest violators?

I've seen a lot of soldiers with their hands in their pockets...I'm guilty of it as well from time to time but I tend to more so now put my hands on my belt

Hands in the pockets, like everyone else has said, is the most notable one. Here at Gordon, the improper wear of the PC is a big issue. I see alot of female soldiers wearing their PC wrong because their bun is too high and doesn't allow the PC to wear parallel to the marching surface. My favorite is the AIT soldiers who wear it like a baseball cap or Ranger roll it.

In the Navy NWU uniforms, sleeves not rolled properly or not at the correct distance from the elbow, and pant legs not bloused correctly (too far down/too high up).

I still remember the many various lengths of sleeve rolling that was going on in the Army when I joined. Don't get me wrong, I wish we could still do it.

I was at NCTAMS PAC when we transitioned to NWU's, so there was a lot of training going on.

A booter in my section used to be in Army JROTC and her Dad is an Army General, so I had her give training on properly rolling our sleeves. My section had the best sleeves at the command!

Ok, this one burns me up. Waking and talking on the phone and walking and smoking. I also don't like Soldiers wearing hands free devices when they are not in their POV's.

The smoking while walking will absolutely raise my blood pressure to critical levels.

Are those wearing logos on socks being corrected? Often some Leaders will let the "small stuff" slide but you can't do that because once you let the "small stuff" slide, you have just set a new standard.

CW4 (Join to see) I never did get the whole “no logo on socks but your running shoes can have a logo” thing. Leave it to the Army to come up with arbitrary rules.

Hands in my pockets...I wore civilian clothes as a Special Agent while deployed and it was a force of habit the rare times I had to wear a uniform for awards and promotions! I ended up doing the thumb in belt to kill it!

To this day, 50 years after service, I stand and walk slow with my hand clasped behind my back. Guess I know pockets are not for your hands!

I haven’t put my hands in my pockets since 1975, I just don’t, unless it’s to pull something out of course.

The Patrol Cap gets abused on a daily basis with nonauthorized Ranger rolls, smushing, pinching and wearing Confederate kepi style. The unbloused/baggy trouser look is out of control. The in the field/practical look has now become the standard (or lack of/disregard for the standard) with this generation of troops.

Hands in pockets, hands down! I’m “looking for my keys” all the time.
