The only non combat MOS in the Army is Recruiter. Everyone else from nurses, doctors, chaplains, and pencil pushers deploy to the combat zone and have been killed in combat. As a 25U you will almost always be stationed in combat unit, there are very few non deploying units a 25U can go to

How long would combats be deployed for and where do they usually go?

PFC (Join to see) they go where they are told and deploy for a length of time that is dictated by commands. Typical USAR/NG deployment is 9 months.

I am so far from combat as a nurse that I took care of Taliban and Al Queda detainees...

I am in an Airborne Infantry Regiment and we have a 25U’s attached to every IN Rifle Company as the Foward Support Signal guy delegated down by the S6. We just got back from Baghdad, Iraq recently. So it’s definitely possible.

You're a soldier first and your MOS second. That's how my drill put it to me. "Are you a fucking pussy? Scared of a little noise baby? You are a God damn soldier then whatever pencil pushing job you picked motherfucker" is actually verbatim but yeah.
