If you research "31K" on here, you'll see numerous answers from recruiters and retention personnel about how rare class seats are for this MOS. Apparently, the odds of a seat being available are astronomically slim.

31K is impossible to reclass into because there are never any seats. All the seats go to Recruiting. Even in Recruiting 31K is a unicorn

We had a soldier (E-4) in my unit reclass to it less than a year ago and at the time they were only taking E-4 and below. His process took over a year and he gave up promotion board by taking non promotion counselings and even going in one day just to tell our CSM he does not/ cannot be promoted due to his reclass. It was a mess and took forever. VERY VERY RARE.

SGT thank just wanted to know if any one has successfully done it. Because in the last Milper message my current MOS was over strength for SL1 and 31K was allowing SL1 in on in/out calls

Check out the most recent in/out call list from ArmyReenlistment.com

As you can see, 31K is NO across the board (a.k.a. a balanced MOS), which typically means nobody in and nobody out (for reclassification purposes). My understanding is that some exceptions apply for going from overstrength to balanced and balanced to balanced. Paging SFC (Join to see) for more guidance on that. However, as CPT Blount pointed out, class seats for 31K are historically very rare as it is. Since you are 42A SL1, your out call is YES, meaning that you should generally be eligible to reclass to another MOS whose in call is YES for SL1. Good luck!
