You should talk to your cadre about certifications that you can get that pertain to your MOS while you're in AIT. While my AIT in and of itself didn't count for points, I got a few certificates and ACE certified credits that transferred over to my Joint Services Transcript and gave me civilian education points.

I agree with this. Using JST and enrolling in a college would be the best route to get promotion points but just AIT certifications won’t do anything for you.

No AIT is ever worth promotion points, that would go against the idea of promotion points. Promotion points are to show how far ahead of your peers you are. If all your peers have AIT or Basic then it makes no sense to include them

So if you send your JSTs to a college they will be worth points for elective credits. But the amount you get will depend on the degree you are going for. I was able to get 50 points from mine with AMU for general study. Hope that helps.

It can be if you use them for college credit. Each MOS is different. Get with the Ed center where you are stationed at and they should be able to help you out.
