I recieved an email on my Army email from a captain at the soldier administrations office at USMA say that I was among the best candidates from Fort Gordon to go to West Point. Is this a common email that is sent to junior enlisted like my self? I would like to apply if it is the case. Thoughts opinions?

I know many many years ago when I was in basic I was one day told I needed to go see the CO. When I appeared at his office I was told that my ASVAB score was high enough to be consider for the USMA Prep School, when I looked into it it turned out I was about 6 moths too old for consideration. You should really look into this great opportunity!!

CSM, that is unfortunate that you could not be considered. There was no exception to policy or a waiver? I have no doubts it could've been possible with your high ASVAB

Even if it's a broad email, it's one they only send to those who meet the eligibility requirements. Usually it takes a recommendation from a Congressman to get in. Give a a shot.

Yes, I am aware of that. I was pointing out that it's an opportunity. Most cadets are not coming from active duty, so most of them require a recommendation. USMA only recruits a small portion of prior service.

That's a great opportunity if it is legit. I have never heard of that. You should try and get more information and jump on it before it is too late!
