Is anyone here going to attend this event??

Washington, DC.......not the center of the universe, I'm partial to Chicago, but St. Louis, Minneapolis, Nashville would be awesome.

I would love to, but Taking care of the Mrs is nearly a full time job....

I find it interesting than most responses thus far are the same as my own. Would like to attend but, no, too far. Distance equals expense so you can add that to the list of reasons for not attending. What's interesting about this (at least to me) is that the same is true for almost every aspect of the federal government. Sorry, it's too far removed from the electorate. Too far to attend their meetings. Too far to visit their memorials. Too far to know what's going on. (This last is exacerbated by the fact that there are no longer any journalists to act as our watchdogs. Today's pseudo-journalists are little more than propagandists flying cover for those of a certain ideology.) Maybe we need a new question. As a matter of fact, I think I'll ask it: Is it time to move the nation's capitol? Where to?
