Is "deferred to continuous evaluation" a favorable result to a security clearance application?

I completed my SF86 and the next day received an email stating that because no derogatory items were found, I was deferred to continuous evaluation instead of a traditional background investigation. Does this mean that my security clearance is good to go barring the appearance of any negative items on my record when it's periodically checked?

Continuous Evaluation (CE) is an ongoing screening process to review the background of an individual who is assigned to a sensitive position or has access to classified information or material. It exists to ensure that the individual should continue to retain a security clearance or the assignment to sensitive duties. However, I recommend you contact your BN Security Manager for the full skinny. They will be able to explain it best.

The thing that would be an issue is if your S2 looked up your adjudication and it said "No Determination Made" or "Adjudication in progress." If it says no determination made, that generally means that the investigation didn't get completed for a PR. If it says in progress it means there was an incident report - in my experience with it.

Yes. If your DISS record states "Enrolled in Continuous Enrollment in CE for Deferred Investigation" that means that your eligibility continues. I believe (if it hasn't already started) that those enrolled in CE for Deferred won't have to do a PR. I'm not 100% sure on if that started or when if it hasn't.
The issue comes up when someone's DISS states "Enrolled in Continuous Evaluation for Other." That does not continue adjudication or eligibility.
You are good to go with a deferred investigation.
