Is the view many American's re displaying about Islam the same as people viewing Westboro Baptist and/or KKK as the mainline ideals of Christianity?
American's react with anger and promote such awesome ideas like a Muhammad cartoon contest. They hide behind the belief that they are just using their freedom of speech given to them by the government, but is that actually what is happening? Supreme Court noted that free speech does not protect acts that can cause disorder or violence, such as screaming fire in a public theater. So why would it protect insulting a religion which would cause anger?

Is it rational to fear ISIS & Al Quaida? So why does the press call it Islamophobia?
I was taught "phobia" means "an irrational fear of"...but it's rational to be afraid to get your head chopped off, isn't it? Is this PC run amok, or just another attempt to grab you with a headline?
