I have submitted paperwork to go active duty from the reserves. My chain of command doesn't think ot will be approved but the active duty recruiter is hopeful about it. I'm in between a rock and a hard place here. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

So as an update I ETS this year so i have already done 4 years national guard and then only 6 mo in the reserves. The reason for wanting to go active duty is my unit is deploying in March and I'm not able to go with them because I am not mosqu. I haven't been sent to a s chill since being in the reserves but I still have my primary mos as 13B from the guard.
I just feel like I'm spinning my wheels ever since I got back in the army. I transferred into this unit to deploy with them and att the time they were going to send me to 88N reclass but now there aren't anymore seats.

Did you lose rank when switching from Guard to Reserves?
