I deploy in 3 weeks, our BN is still pulling Staff Duty and CQ, up until 4 days before we leave the other units I have deployed with outsource NCO’s and Runners the last month or so prior to deployment. Is it a common practice not to outsource so close to leaving?

In my experience, Rear D starts taking all such shifts a few weeks before deployment.

The mission must be completed. Of course there are times where this happens. You don't get some kind of pass for duties just because you are deploying soon. Do your job and charlie mike.

ahh yes, the important mission of guarding the staff duty desk is of the utmost importance lol.

SSG (Join to see) I never said staff duty or CQ was tantamount to storming the beaches, but in what world does an NCO take the position that one's duty can be shirked simply because a deployment is imminent?
