I am currently speaking with an active duty recruiter and so far they said no. My friends tell me it is hard or takes forever.

They made a prior Active Navy SM in my civilian medical unit I work for go back to basic because Navy Basic is shorter than army. He was an E6 and they dropped him to an E5.

It really depends on what your RE code and type of discharge is printed on your DD-214 when you got out last time.

With an RE-1 you should be able to reenlist. as long as you still meet physical and age requirements.
