i've been looking to change my MOS to 11b and pursuing a full on career with active duty from national guard (no i dont want to be a grunt my entire career) i met some rangers overseas and now im very determined to become one myself after going active, is it harder for me to go to RASP knowing im coming from National Guard ?

No one will care or even know from where you came. The only issue I have is where you stated “not wanting to be a grunt my whole career”. Two things, these men are professionals and live this their entire lives. It’s not a job and it sure as hell isnt temporary, it is a lifestyle and mindset that we carry to the grave. I don’t think you understand and you should definitely devote serious time to determine if this is what you want. If you’re not committed to a lifelong change then don’t do it. They will weed those guys out and you’ll find yourself with a failure under your belt on a worldwide assignment. But the other stuff; nobody gives a damn who you “were or where you came from”, it’s all irrelevant. No... thinking about it, you shouldn’t go. Stay in the guard.

when i stated i dont want to be a grunt my entire career i meant as if i want more mos's under my belt (that could start another career once im out of military) before i hit retirement, not everyone stays in regiment their entire career i know a few that eventually left after some years

SGT (Join to see) Your last sentence is why I said you’re not understanding... Sure guys move on and don’t stay “in” Regiment their whole lives but this IS a lifelong change that will change your entire culture. If you aren’t in it for life then go elsewhere. I know this post is dated and may not be relevant for you, but hopefully it will be useful info for someone else with a desire for knowledge.
