Is it legal for a CSM to refuse to sign a packet for warrant aviation for no reason other than it isn’t what they want?

I’m submitting a packet for warrant aviation. My command doesn’t want me to do it bc they want me to PCS to another duty station where we have a segment of our unit. My battalion CSM is refusing to sign my packet (his is the final signature needed) for no reason, other than that it’s inconvenient for them to lose me and they want me to do what they want. Is this legal?

Not sure about the legal aspect, but I would probably get in contact with your local Warrant Officer recruiter. I’m sure they’ve dealt with similar situations before.

The only thing that needs to be signed by the CSM is that cover sheet on your packet. Contact the WO recruiter to see if you can submit without. Him signing the packet is just him saying he verifies all the documents needed to submit the packet are present. The CSM has no say and you do not need his blessing. I would contact IG as a last resort.

The UCMJ allows for the readdress of wrongs, and what they are doing is wrong.
