Is it okay to get a tattoo while in DEP?

I am currently in DEP, l ship out at the end of July. My family wants to get tattoos before I leave but I’m not sure if it will cause problems.

I would just make sure that you get in a place that can be covered whole in uniform such as your upper arm. I would also make sure you get it at least one month before you ship out so it can fully heal.

PVT (Join to see) - honestly if I were you I would go for a bicep. The last thing you want to do during Basic Training is to stand out unless you want the Drill SGTs in your face lol. The design is sick tho!!

PVT (Join to see) - I agree with SGT Ben Keen Get the tattoo on your bicep. You will not always be wearing long sleeve and having a tattoo on you forearm would be visible when you wear short sleeve.

PVT (Join to see) there are short sleeve uniforms as well. Covered by uniform would refer to the torso and the upper arm and upper thigh that would be covered by shorts or a short sleeve shirt.
