I know that a few months ago the Army was in huge need of soldiers to join this new brigade. I know that I'd have to change MOS's but im just curious if its it's even possible. Since its such a new Brigade not much information of switching into it. Thanks

no not 1st SFAB you would have to be Active Duty and that is at Fort Benning. Now 6th SFAB I heard was going to be national guard but I haven't heard if it was finally approved or not. I'm sure someone here in the national guard will have more info on it. I have friends on active that are in SFAB and love it a good career decision for a lot of soldiers.

6th SFAB is in the Ohio National Guard, based out of Columbus, OH. Right now they are only excepting E5 (P) and up.

You can join one of the BNs out of state. We have several Advisors that are from out of state.

Depending on where you are, you might consider a National Guard SF Company from 19th Group. I auditioned in 2006 with a Guard Company in Ohio, and we had members on the Training Team who traveled as far as 6 hours each way for a 5 drill weekend. It was the hardest job I ever loved, and i consider it to be among my highest achievements. I was stronger than I had ever been and had a mental toughness and confidence greater than after being offered a commission after completing Marine OCS.
