Yes. I send a half-dozen or so a year.
If you are in a unit in jump status, most likely they will make you go.

It's possible, although you unit has to have slots. Most times they'll send only people with high PT scores or if you win Best Warrior Competitions.

Anything is possible but just depending on situations. Some units will not send SMs to certain schools unless seating in a slot that requires the school. “Just because” you want to might not always happen.

Is it possible to go to airborne school if you are in the Reserves?

Yes it is possible to go Airborne school. Before I retired there was talk that all 38's were to be jump certified

It may be possible, but it is a serious waste of resources and black hat time since you have to jump once per quarter to maintain your status if you are not deployed. Getting wings just because they will look cool on my ASUs isn’t a good enough reason. It is a perishable skill that requires constant training to learn how to handle all sorts of situations- AWADS, masstac, slipping away from other jumpers, water, tree or power line landings How exactly do you think you will jump once per quarter in a reserve unit to maintain your status when a lot of your time is spent doing administrative stuff and APFTs? I also don’t see how an airborne qualified soldier would ever remain on the MTOE in a reserve unit. You’d probably have to go AD or AGR first

The USAR and ARNG both have units on active jump status.

Wow, I did not know that. Thanks for sharing. On the AD side I can tell you that if you go to Airborne School, prepare to PCS to Bragg, Ft. Rich in Alaska, or 173rd in Germany or Italy or a Ranger battalion and that’s about it outside of SOCOM. I imagine that reserve and NG components would likely be the same that you would PCS to units that are near a joint Army/AirForce base where you could jump once per quarter to maintain your jump pay and status.
