Long story short, I got injured, lost motivation and gained weight. I'm worried about getting chapter now because im the shitbag of the platoon. Is it too late for me to turn this around?

Is it too late? I don't know. Do you feel it's too late? Only you can make that determination. If you're tired of being the shit bag of the platoon....get off your ass and do something about it.

It's all a "MINDSET". Looks like you need more than just a regular help. See your military providers to deal with your physical injury and perhaps even depression due to weight gain. TREATMENT IS NOT A SIGN OF WEAKNESS. GO GET HELP WARRIOR!!!

It’s only too late if you decide it is.

If you are asking the question, then no ! If you don't want to be "that" soldier, then don't. Be proactive, rather than reactive. If you are still injured and on profile (not sure what you army types call it), then volunteer yourself for everything you can. Make yourself indispensable to your chain, that they will do whatever they have to to keep you, or give you a break until you get back into fighting shape.

Why are you on this site asking others if it is too late? Only you can decide if it is too late.

Absolutely not. Don't let despair guide your actions. If you want to stay in, get your but on the track, get fit and stop snacking and eating the extra portions at meal time. If your PSG and CO see you making progress they will probably give you a bit of leeway to get your stuff together.
Good luck. Go get em, Rolfe.

It's up to you- no one can force you to push yourself. If you want to stay in then start busting your ass- or you might wake up to a Chapter one morning.

Hell no it’s not to late!
I have been seriously injured and told I would not be what I was. I did not have the weight gain issue but I was depressed and lost. It took me a year and a half to heel but I got my mind right and was determined to prove I could still be an asset. If you need to reach out for medical support to get your mind in order do it. Do what ever it takes to have the right mindset. Only you can decide if you want to be a contributor or a burden. With the right mindset you can accomplish more than you can possibly vision. If you believe you have more to give to the Army your country and your well being then get it done. Don’t take no for an answer, do what you what to do. Doctors are not always right, you can accomplish more. Good luck and God Bless.
