Is it true they’re letting new non-prior service enlistees choose a duty station now and guarantee it in the contract?

Hearing about the option of getting 11B and CHOOSING, the duty station you’re at for 2 year enlistments. Anyone else?

The Army has many different recruiting tools and options. Not all options are available to everyone. Some recruits like HS and college grads with a high ASVAB, are more valuable and get more options than low scores or people who need waivers.

Have you seen it in writing? Is it in the contract?
If the answer is no for you or “they” or whoever is telling you I am guessing it is a rumor. Entry level duty stations are generally at the needs of the Military. I would check your source

Buddy of mine in recruiting right now. Said it’s an attempt to pick numbers back up for certain MOS’s

Update** it is given to them (enlistees) in writing and the duty station is selected at MEPS by availability. He has no reason to lie but it’s surreal sounding to me.

PFC (Join to see) No offense to you or your buddy but recruiters have plenty of reasons to lie. It’s an infamous stereotype within the job field.
If the duty station selections are limited and don’t happen until meps that’s a little misleading because you are already well into the pipeline at that point and wrapping up the last loose ends. I’d be curious to learn how many guaranteed slots are allocated per duty station for each FY. It sounds like an inventive enlistment incentive but also seems like it has the potential for running out pretty quick.
