Before I call my Branch Manager, I was wondering is it true that you can volunteer for an assignment overseas, like Kuwait, Korea or etc. I’m currently stationed in Ft Sill, and hit my time here where I could come down on orders. I just really wanna get out of here.

Yes you can contact your branch manager to volunteer for an overseas. It’ll probably be easier to get Korea because of the transformation going on over there (upgrading the bases), it is a priority 1 assignment. Good Luck to you...

SGT (Join to see) Kuwait is also Priority 1, so you may have an option for that, as well.

Yes you can, but there are a couple of caveats.
1. You will need to be on station 3 years before PCS.
2.You will probably need to add time to your contract. The SRR for Korea unaccompanied is one year from your report date. Your ETS needs to exceed one year from your report date to Korea to receive your orders.
3. If you're an initial term Soldier, and you will need to add time to your contract, your branch manager won't work with you. There are a few reasons, but the bottom line is they will tell you to go to retention and reenlist for it 90% of the time.
4. If you're married or have dependents and want to bring them, the SRR is two years from report date.
