Is Pin On rank for officers what folks really wear for the black all weather coat?

So yea, it is, that's what 670-1 says (yes, yes, version 2021), and NCO's wear shoulder marks. I've just never actually seen it that way. Well, OK then. So be it. I'm doing funeral details and it's weather dictates and we get picked apart for our uniforms for these details (which is totally understandable).

Sir just follow the regs-you can't go wrong, and I have seen it all the times on active duty.

SFC Casey O'Mally
SFC Michael Hasbun All the time. But we just got rained on or snowed on. No one even thought about that coat. We just sucked it up and drove on.

I can remember the pin on rank, it is what you found in the quartermaster store when I joined. I never did like pin on* and always used the post and clutch insignia where sew on not used. Even on hats, I used sew on as clutches hurt my forehead. When full color sew on got hard to find, my BN Surgeon pointed me to CAP sew on ranks which were full color, albeit with a blue background. On my maroon beanie, I pushed rank through flash and bent the posts.
* Rank had a tilt to it with pin on.
