Does anyone know if Rothco clothing (mainly their fleece) is in compliance with AR 670-1?

Way to early to consider gear outside issue. During training nothing other than issue is authorized. Good luck.

Does the item have the NSN on the tag? PFC Jeffrey Herrington has a point as well. Don’t be that guy.

Don’t get anything until you complete your entire initial training. Once at your first duty station, then you’ll be able to get an better answer.

Look when you go to training, you take just what they tell you to, nothing more, nothing less. Anything the service thinks you need, they will issue at the appropriate time. Take something not on the list and IF you are lucky it will be waiting for you when you get home on leave.

Wearing military issue is always a safe bet. In due course, you may be Issued additional military gear to aid in the performance of your ? duties. Appreciate it!

Get the real deal. The rotcho and the other fleece people seem to buy off amazon are definitely a different color. I can spot them a mile away. They are a darker brown than the official coyote color sold in clothing and sales. Don’t risk getting raked over the coals to save $30. It’s a fleece. You’ll wear it plenty if you serve/drill above the mason Dixon line and easily get your money’s worth out of it.

Rothco offers an "AR 670-1 Compliant" section on their website where you can see what of their current offering is allowed.

Now, I'm assuming based on your profile that you're looking for your ROTC group so your cadre would be the best go-to to ask what you can buy and wear. On the whole, what usually flies in ROTC/JROTC and what flies in-service are usually two totally different things. Chances are also good that your cadre has ways of ordering anything like cold weather gear that they think you might need. I would talk with them first.
