Some RUMINT (Rumor Intel) going around today at work that there are changes coming up for pin on requirements for SFC. Has anybody heard that attendance at the appropriate NCO Academy for your rank in order to pin on will be going away again?

The only change is that if you're deployed you can delay your PME for a year.

Yes, new MILPER is out, if you are selected, while deployed, then your unit can send promotion waiver without going to PME up to HRC. Once approved by the HRC, you'll be pinned but then you will have to attend SLC within a year from pinning. Look up MILPER Message Number 18-304.

if I have read it wrong I'm pretty sure that is only for deployed soldiers the command is able to waive for.

SFC (Join to see) - ok I thought so.
Would of been nice last year during deployment I would of been able to pin on. But nope I sit here still on promotion list prob going to fall off again because can't get into SLC but my fault for not switching my mos a decade ago. lol

You will have to attend, it is a temporary waiver. Thank you for your service.
