Is submitting a DA 4187 for deployment the same as volunteering through MODS or is a DA 4187 specifically for oversea assignment like Korea?

SPC (Join to see) , the DA 4187 Personnel Action form has many purposes including for requesting service schools, assignments, ID cards, etc.
