Is the 17C MOS being merged into the 25B MOS? If so, should I still pursue 17C or go straight into 25B?

I want to become a 17C in the National Guard but my recruiter keeps telling me that the MOS is being merged with 25B and I should do that instead. However, the website and a couple of other people I know in the NG say that it isn't getting merged, can anybody give me some info on this and what I should do?

I hate to say your recruiter lied to you but.....
Cyber is definitely not merging with commo.
That being said, while 17C is technically an entry level MOS, if you don't already have experience or knowledge in programming you're going to fail. So, if you're joining to advance your skills, go 17C. If you're joining to develop new skills, or baby skills, go 25B,you can always switch to 17C down the road.

We’re not being merged into 25Bs. Our jobs are completely different and we’re a completely different branch. If you want to be a 17C I highly recommend doing it. It’s a great job to have.

Also if you don’t have experience in computers it’s fine as long as you’re willing to learn. I became a 17C with barely any exposure to a computer growing up. You don’t need certs or degrees to succeed. Just the willingness to learn the job.

25D is being merged into 25B and 17C. 17C for the scripting and 25B for the networking.
