I am a Reserve TPU 70D, currently attending DCC (long-course). I am attempting to track training requirements and am seeing mixed info on which courses we, as 70D TPU, are required to attend. I've received a few emails from HRC about 70B specifically noting the need to attend in-person Phase II, but nothing clear on 70D.

When scheduling DCC I was told by the USARC rep that I should attend the long-course (9 weeks).

I am trying to find out if the long-course is mandatory or recommended? My unit had me complete BOLC - I last year due to COVID.

I'm also trying to get additional info on the MIM course length. I see a 1-year distance learning course referenced, but am curious how my unit tracks that for points/pay and a possible 6-week in-person course after that?

My assumption would be:
2021 - DCC
2022 - BOLC (short 4-week or long course 9-week)
2023 - DL MIM (365)
2024 - in-person MIM (6-weeks)

On top of this we have annual training (2-weeks)

Am I ineligible for promotion until after that?
Are any of these courses able to be tested/certified out of?

We are offering Sec + bootcamp in MIMC now. Phase 1 is 240 hours of distance learning and you have a year to do it, phase 2 is 6 weeks of residency at Fort Sam.

The Army doesn't care about any certification for promotion. The value of certs is the information you learn to apply to your job. Now DoD 8570 states to do certain tasks you need certain certs and Sec + covers IAt Level 1 and 2.

I appreciate the response, ma'am.

For the 240 hours of distance learning, is that something I would coordinate with my reserve unit for accountability (funding or points)?

You are correct on your time line. Except you have to do the 9 weeks course, the short course is not an option for us as for 70D's.

2021 - DCC
2022 - BOLC ( Long course 9 weeks. ) + 2 weeks for your AOC training as a 70B. I am not sure if they changed this or not.
2023 - Medical Information Management Course Phase 1 ( Its DL)
2024 - in-person MIM (6-weeks) ( Correct)

As far as your promotion once you complete BOLC you met the requirements for Promotion to CPT once you meet the TIS/TIG and have boarded.

What is your TIS?

If you are staying a 70D I recommend you get Security+ if not you will not be able to do the basic requirements of a TPU 70D.

CPT Enrique M. I appreciate the info. It's digging ffor info! I am planning on sec+ soon, I have all the pre-requisites complete to request a voucher. Any advice to stand out compared to others? I have additional duties, PAO & G6 OIC and should have a few decent OERs on file with my work assisting in Army 365.

For MIM, how is virtual tracked for reservist?

I would also work on Captains Career course phase 1 before you board.
Work on your OERs they don't need to be top block but they need to have substance. PL, S6, or any other higher position. Do you have a masters?

CPT Enrique M. - I do, that and ITIL v3 Foundation, am working on my CHCIO cert which I should get later this year and I was debating on the Sec+ cert or CISM. On the civilian side I am in management and see the CISM more aligned with being valuable on both sides. I checked and DOR is July 2019

1LT (Join to see) from the army standpoint Chico cert doesn't do anything although our consultant LTC (Join to see) advocates it for all of us.

Sec+ is the only thing the army cares about especially on the reserve side of the house.

I would do both though especially if it helps your civilian career.
