After reading this article, can't help but wonder if the destruction of the Marine Corps is imminent? What do you think?

No. I agree with a lot of the answers posted here. I have faith enough in the Marines to know that one way or the other, the training provided will whip any male or female into the best shape possible. The weights listed in the article are not considered healthy weights by most of the health care community. Here's an example: https://www.bannerhealth.com/staying-well/managing/fitness-nutrition/ideal-weight#
I looked at multiple charts. They pretty much agree. Just because a 5'9" women "can" weight up to 174 lbs., doesn't mean she "should".
And if, in a combat situation, a Marine isn't strong/fast/smart enough, then he or she will no longer be a Marine. They will be a flag given to a family member. This is the bottom line. Every member of the military knows this.

To be eligible for bariatric surgery, you should weigh roughly 100 lbs. more than your ideal body weight. The following is a chart that you can use to see what the "ideal" body weight is for your height

The military has been, and will continue to be, a microcosm of American society. As Americans have become accepting of differing sexual orientations, the military had a choice: accept it or be rendered irrelevant. While there will always be those who serve for no other reason than the colors on their right shoulder, the vast majority of people I've ever spoken with agree with me that our motivation to serve is more complex. And though the diehards are important, a military devoid of intellectual capability will be left in the dust by our enemies. To attract society's best and brightest, you have to accommodate what society becomes as it continues to evolve year by year, decade by decade. The military was opened up to LGBT members, and is being made more open to women and different gender identities because society is moving towards a more inclusive world. The most intelligent and capable young men and women (and whatever else) will happily really away from an organization that seems antiquated at best and obstinately bigoted at worst. I, for one, have no desire to get my ass handed to me by China because somebody in DC was so uncomfortable with the transsexual guy that they ignored his brilliant new guidance system that could have turned a protracted conflict into a 3 day episode of the US proving is continued dominance.
FYI, a gay man cracked the enigma code for the Allies, so we do actually want them in the service.

Quick, someone tell the IDF that it's been finished as a fighting force for more than a decade because it allows women in combat arms. This article is ridiculous.
