I'm currently in the Philippines, ETSed out from the US Army. From what I read from the army times, the US will have 5+ bases. https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-military/2023/02/02/us-to-widen-military-presence-in-philippines/

Anyone currently here in the Philippines know where we have a commissary and PX? At any of the bases here in Philippines?

State Department Commissaries are separate and slightly different from Military Base Commissaries. They may give access but they might not. They have reduced services provided to Veterans and Military retirees in the last few years.

I checked out Quezon City, the Commissary is located inside AFP and they won't let Veterans in. The Guard said I needed a clearance, a clearance just to go inside the Commissary? What kind of stuff do they sell inside that requires having a clearance? Just my two cents thought. SSgt Christophe, you were correct that commissary privilege for Veterans is a reduced service. Perhaps, the other locations that the US military has a presence might have a commissary, but I have to make time to visit them.

My understanding is the new bases will not be built up bases like Clark or Subic Bay a few decades ago. I believe the Philippine constitution prevents permanent stationing of US SMs in the country. However, I do not know what the implications are for PXs and commissaries. Do a FB search of veterans living in the PI. You will probably get better answers than on RP.
