Is there a regulation about how long you can be separated from family during an enlistment ? (Specifically for the army)?

No there's not. You won't be very successful cherry picking regulations. If you tell us your situation, we can provide some specific guidance

PO3 (Join to see) not having a FCP is basis for involuntary separation. Careful how you handle it!

That’s what we want... but his command is saying only I need one which is 1 coming off sexist because they basically said I’m probably taking care of her anywhere. MAJ Javier Rivera

PO3 (Join to see) yes, AR 600-20 para 5-5b, requires him to have a plan, as instructed in DoDI 1342.19.
Not certain why his COC isn't enforcing compliance. Likely due to their misinterpretation of the regulation.
He could find himself facing separation for not having a FCP. Likewise, you risk separation for not having a plan.

They are wrongPO3 (Join to see). Like 1SG (Join to see) says, he must have one as well otherwise he’ll face separation as well. Something here doesn’t make sense if you ask me.
