I am interested in the cyber field in the army. The ASVAB requirement is 110GT and 112ST. My current score is 119GT and 111ST. Was wondering if I can get my ST score waived so I can submit my packet

You just request it in your packet. You'll either receive an acceptance letter or you won't

Yes, it’s possible to request a waiver for your ASVAB ST score when submitting a packet for the 17C (Cyber Operations Specialist) position. Since your current ST score is 111, which is just one point shy of the required 112, you have a good chance of being considered for a waiver.

The process typically involves your recruiter submitting the waiver request along with your packet. Approval can vary in timing, so it’s best to discuss this directly with your recruiter for specific guidance and to understand the necessary steps. Good luck with your application!

I called the proponent last year and they told me “you can request it on the 4187, however, they usually don't give waivers due to most packets don’t require one”. Its a long shot in my mind, but it was NOT a no. Things could’ve changed as well since i called. Give the proponent a call and see what they say. Im currently on leave and don't have access to a computer to get you the number. Good Luck!

They process so few of them because the people who have the experience they're looking for already have a high ST score
