I have a guy in my neighborhood claiming to be a disabled veteran. He used to claim that he was combat injured in an incident on the Korean DMZ in 1988. I’ve backed him off of that but he’s still claiming to be a disabled vet. He says that he’s a member of every veterans service organization on the planet, including the VFW. I’ve not been able to verify any of that yet, but have a resource to reach out to. Any help with being able to verify this guy’s service or lack there of would be appreciated. I have his name and DOB, and the units that he says he served with.

If you are curious, you can check with the local VFW. Part of becoming a member requires submitting a DD-214

SSgt Terry P. If it were just that, some turd running his yapper a little, I’d tell him to pack sand in his ass. But he’s begging for money and always asking for handouts and free favors and services. He’s a poser and a douchbag and taking advantage of good-hearted folks. I totally get the sentiment and wouldn’t waste another seconds time. This cat needs to go down.

I've run into a lot of posers. Some are legit vets that just embellish their service, some are outright liars. I drive a van for the DAV taking vets to the VA hospital in Birmingham, AL. You would not believe how many Airborne Rangers and Navy Seals there are in this world! I even have a barber that I used to go to that would tell stories about where he worked at Ft McClellan, AL. The sad thing about it is that the things he claims to have done are exactly what I did at the same time. He actually stole my work history and didn't know it was me that he stole it from. I love it on Veterans Day or Memorial day when restaurants give away free food to vets. Everyone in town owns a veterans hat and claim to be Vietnam Vets or Desert Stormers. Who knew there were so many crack heads in Viet Nam that were born in 1980.

SFC Ernest Thurston - I see a lot of that here,SFC Thurston, we even have an ordained minister that has posed as a Colonel and was VP of a local VFW. Not only had he not served in a war,he had never served at all. He was outed by a friend of mine(VN Vet),who lived across the street from him and this friend posted this sign in his yard. LOL
