Is there an AFI that says whether or not you're supposed to be on day shift a certain amount of time before departure?

I have been told that airmen are supposed to be on day shift 45 days prior to a TDY, deployment, or separation to allow propper out-processing time. However, I cannot seem to find it in the AFI.

No, there is no AFI policy that governs this and probably never will be. Local policies from group down to perhaps element level may have it, but that's doubtful too. Hope this helps!

I agree with previous comments on this subject. There may be a squadron, group or wing policy on it but Ive always gone by a tried and true method; show me the written policy or it doesn't exist. I never took the word of a fellow airman (or SNCO, NCO or Officer) without documentation.

SrA (Join to see) I have never been aware of this requirement. It may be a local unit policy, but as far as being in an AFI, I never saw it.
