Long story short, I do not have a copy of my son's birth certificate and his mother is not very willing to provide said document, I thought of reaching out to the appropriate office to get a copy of my own but I am not listed as his father on birth certificate, I do have court documents stating he is my son and my child support arrangements.

Enlistment forms aren't the issue, you can't add your child to DEERS and make them a dependent without these documents. Just order another one, we have the internet now, it's pretty easy of they were born in the US

SFC (Join to see) said, the important item is to get them added to DEERS.

Depending on the state your child was born, there might be some additional hoops you have to jump through to get a copy of the birth certificate, but if you have a legal document stating he's your son, then you should be good.

Go to https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w/index.htm to find out what the requirements and process are for the state he was born in.

By the way - once you get a copy, keep the birth certificate and the court order together in a safe spot (buy yourself a small safe for your house .. get a safe deposit box .. etc). You're going to need the 'birth certificate' many times throughout your career (and life) and having them together will save you all sorts of grief.

It is Critical that you get a copy of his birth certificate and add him to DEERS. Your child support agreement is likely to require you to keep health insurance on the child. TRICARE will not take cre of him if you do not have him on DEERS.
An additional peice of Hard Learned advice that saved my 4th point of contact once. Pay your Child support directly to the state and let them send it to the mother. I say again, do notpay directly to the mother but rather to the state support agency for disbursement, and pay them by direct VOLUNTARY allotment. This precludes you having to deal with a claim that you are not paying and you not being able to prove that you were/are and are current. I was accused of not paying, but because from day one, all child support had been by Voluntary allotment, set up at the Reception Station when I enlisted, and was paid to the state by DFAS, I was able to prove to my command in a matter of minutes that not only was I paying, I was ahead, current and overpaying the ordered amount.

It is so much nicer when you Company Commander can say "Congressman we can prove he is in compliance and exceeding the order" than to hear "Well Congressman, the Soldier says he is paying it."
