Ft. Polk is one of those post that can't avoid the mold problem, in the summer you take a shower and don't dry off for two days. I tis up to those to help keep the room ventilated and leave the curtains open so sun light can get in.

There is a mold problem with most of the barracks. DPW and housing have been working with the problem. If you notice a mold problem, report it right away to your facility manager in your unit. They will arrange for it to be cleaned.

Having worked at FT. Polk for over 10 years, there is a slight chance of it, but doubtful. Those who live in Louisiana for any amount of time learn real quick that all it takes to keep control of mold is to police up after ones self, clean up. Most of the barracks that y'all stay in are fairly new compared to what was once there for years. The humidity there is more than most have ever seen in their life times. All it takes is learning how to deal.
