so brand new here, but I am hoping someone can help - and it is still flag related.
Army/Navy game - what was with the "left side" flag on the RIGHT side of the uniforms (white/black)? I assume it was some throwback to the 10th Mtn Div? Still, confused.

The army/navy game this year honored the 10th Mtn Div and the blue angels uniform wise

As long as it’s not grounded or upside down would depend on command guidance

The flag should never be displayed backwards, it’s just dumb.

backwards? The U.S. flag is a double sided flag thereby having a right side and a left side. The union should be in the top left corner, or to the front. If displayed upside down - it is a sign of distress.

Sorry to disagree Cpl Wilkes, the proper display of the US Flag is Blue field of stars is always displayed on the upper left when viewed from the "front". There are only two ways to hang a flag this way. and yes, there are two sides, a front and back. The army in it's infinite wisdom decided it looked like you were running backwards when flag was worn on the right arm. If you look up flag codes, you will find this explained along with proper display in many various scenarios.

US Flag Code
• (i) When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window, the flag should be displayed in the same way, with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street.

• (n) When the flag is used to cover a casket, it should be so placed that the union is at the head and over the left shoulder. The flag should not be lowered into the grave or allowed to touch the ground.

• (o) When the flag is suspended across a corridor or lobby in a building with only one main entrance, it should be suspended vertically with the union of the flag to the observer's left upon entering. If the building has more than one main entrance, the flag should be suspended vertically near the center of the corridor or lobby with the union to the north, when entrances are to the east and west or to the east when entrances are to the north and south. If there are entrances in more than two directions, the union should be to the east.
