Is wearing a flag patch on a backpack against regulations?

I'm not sure if it's against regs but personally I don't see a problem with it as long as its displayed in a respectful manner.

During my years we didn't wear them on our uniforms as part of our accoutrements. Down South we wore them sparingly as they made good targets. so, I don't really know regulation wise.
