Is wearing a flag patch on a backpack against regulations?

I believe that any use of the flag, other than its main purpose, is improper. A very slippery slope to start making exceptions to rules. Follow the original intent of the flag and quick making excuses for "but, if....."

Doesn't say you may nor does it say you may not. It does tell you some places and how to wear it there but backpacks are not mentioned nor or drawers, whatever, is current color mentioned on where to put the flag or telling not to wear it. The writer of regs could solve the problem by adding a sentence to the reg. IE the wearing of the flag patch other than exactly as proscribed in this Reg.

I never thought that if a flag patch was velcroed or sewn on a backpack, that it would be considered disrespectful. If I am dead face down in the dirt, I'd like the next guy to recognize my body as American. That way he/she could collect my dog tags and mark where I fell. Wouldn't you?
